We do learn quite a bit more about the White Sisters, which is cool and quite welcome, given how little we learn about them in Mr Duncan's 'adult' books but ultimately, this book disappointed me. Especially because Lord of the Fire Lands clearly shows that Mr Duncan is quite capable of writing an appealing young hero while still keeping the adults smart, too. Granted, LotFL is a bit lengthier but ... last time I checked, YA doesn't come with a size-limit. (
