Fast paced and always an enjoyable read. ( )

Very edge-of-the seat drama.....I couldn't put it down but also was afraid of what was going to happen next.

The ending was good, but I am wondering if this could really be "pulled off" in real life....I guess anything is possible. ( )

I like Greg Iles's earlier works better than his latest. You can actually see some of his talent shine throughout without having to muck through the contrived sexual situations and overall trashiness.

While not being his best book, this one was definately a doozy-do. While the main characters aren't quite so deep as you want them to be, they're still likeable people. I love that the setting is my home state, and I was very familiar with some of the places the characters travelled.

Fun stuff and very enjoyable, so long as you aren't looking for a literary masterpiece. ( )

It is a gripping novel about the Jennings' daughter that is kidnapped. There are two kidnappers and they have an elaborate scheme. If one does not contact the other withing a certain amount of time, the daughter is to be killed. This takes place over a literal 24 hours. ( )

I read this book a long time ago. At the time I wasn't really looking for a book to read. I was only browsing. I picked up this book and my son bought it for me. I started reading it right away. It captured me. It was a page turner. Since, I've read Greg Iles I have become a fan. Very good book. A must read for sure ( )

What a great book! I was hooked from the beginning, although some parts were not easy for me to read.
The premise of the book is very sad and tragic IMO, but I sort of assumed from the beginning, it would turn out okay in the end .... I'll leave you to read it to so you can see if I was right or very sad at the end.
This is the second book I've read by Greg Iles and he did not disappoint (although admittedly, I liked the first book I read by him better, but I think the plot line is a big cause of this).
I think I will pick up more books by him in the future.
The thing that makes me laugh the most is I originally downloaded this book to listen to while unpacking at the new house and of course became hooked on the story and listened to it very quickly and not only while unpacking!
I will admit some parts did seem to drag a bit and in some places time seemed to go soooo slow, but I would imagine for some of the victims, time did feel slow, so I'm still wondering if that was intentional on the author's part or not.
But that aside, I enjoyed the book greatly. ( )

24 Hours begins with the perfect family. On the perfect day. About to become trapped in the perfect crime. Will Jennings is a successful young doctor in Jackson, Mississippi, with his whole life ahead of him. He has a thriving practice, a beautiful wife, and a young daughter he loves beyond measure. But Will and his family are being watched by a con man and psychopath. A man who has crafted the unbeatable crime. A man who has never been caught, and whose victims have never talked to the police. A man whose life's work strikes at the heart of every family's nightmare: the unstoppable kidnapping.

But this man has never met Will and Karen Jennings. ( )
