Timbuktu by Auster, ... ... pies, with recipes included! My Stroke of Insight which is a must read for any one with elderly people in their lives. Merle's Door is another really good, tear jerking, dog book. I liked the new information about research into the nature of domesticated dogs.
I read some others, but ... ... signs under books that they like. They are in every section of the library. I picked up one a couple of days ago called Merle's Door: Lessons from a freethinking dog. Since I've read dog stories all my life I checked it out.

I love library book sales!
I loved reading Merle's Door and learned some new research findings about dogs, wolves, etc. I just finished Merle's Door and I am now thinking it is the best dog book I have ever read. Well, there are some other good ones (Where The Red Fern Grows and Lassie). But I do recommend it highly. If you like books about Dogs you might like Bones Would Rain from the Sky: Deepening Our Relationships with Dogs by Suzanne Clothier - that was a fantastic ... ... bath. Which I think I'll go take right now. I am re-reading Catcher in the Rye in paperback.
But I am also reading Merle's Door on the Kindle and I love it. By the way I agree re: reference books. Even dictionaries.

... I finished My Stroke of Insight last night and now need to return to all my started up books. I will probably finish Merle's Door today and try to finish Invader this week end.
I am being very irresponsible and am reading multiple books: on my Kindle:Merle's Door, and Team of Rivals, and in RL: Invader, The Annotated Alice in Wonderland, The Annotated Wizard of Oz, Clapton, The Color of Magic, American Pie Slices of Life and Pie from America's Back Roads ... ... Elephants by Sara Gruen: Purchased as an impulse buy at Borders right after it came out in paperback. Very good.
