The poem on the title page of this book suggests that the story will have a lesson for parents about getting over-involved in their children's activities, which would be a great lesson in today's world. However, this does not play out the way I expected in the story, with each parent just getting a little too excited about the possibility of the cubs playing Little League. The cubs get nervous about their tryouts, but don't experience any problems otherwise, so I feel like an opportunity was missed here to show kids that sometimes it's more important to try even if you don't get what you want. This is just kind of a bland story that doesn't really have a lot of weight or interest to it. ( )
