However, inside her head Kylie still carries the weight she once carried on her body. When her apartment burns her life begins to spiral downward. With the help of friends Kylie begins to learn that appearances aren't everything. ( )Not her best work. This character paid no attention to the "cool" advice she gave. A disappointment after Edwards' first two entertaining novels, How to Be Cool steps too far into the chick-lit category. In fact, this book is almost too shallow to be readable. The main character obsesses about her weight every page, all the while keeping tabs on high profile 'celebrities' - basically, the topics you are overexposed to in every day life are beaten to a pulp in these pages. A little too cliche and shallow for my taste. no reviews | add a review
