58. Debt of Bones by Terry Goodkind (read aloud with The Husband)
Meh. This prequel to the Sword of Truth series wasn't all that great, but, thankfully, short. I read Debt of Bones first and loved it. That is what got me into the series in the first place. I read everything exept Debt of Bones, and everything after Chainfire. After that one, it seemed WAY to forced...but up to then it was amazing. The first three were the best by far though...but for a few of the books after that they were still very good.
Read it! The rest of the books in the series are:
Naked Empire
Debt of Bones
Chainfire
Phantom
Confessor
The last one was released just 2 weeks ago. My son says, "Don't listen to philosojerk. They're ALL great books."
BTW, if you get all of these in hardbound, they'll pretty ... ... you read the books entirely in the series order. Only then does the story make sense.
BTW, there is a novella called Debt of Bones. It is sort of a prequel.. But I'd advise you to read it maybe midway through the series. it makes better sense that way. #54 Namazzi - I really liked Goodkind's Debt of Bones, which is what I read first that got me to read the Sword of Truth series. And I've liked most of the ones I've read. Not to burst your bubble or anything (cause they are still readable), but the last few books of the series have started going ... ... series by Terry Goodkind, if you are looking for 'Epic' fantasy. It currently has 10 books, and also a prequel titled Debt of Bones.
Since you've already read all of RJ's books, you'll notice a lot of *odd* similar traits in the Goodkind ones, but hopefully not enough to throw you off ...
