To Frank Beeler, a sodbuster who just hasn't made it, the chance to hire out as the guide to a hunting party of wealthy dudes seems a golden opportunity. He knows the Indian territories, speaks a few of their languages, and has had previous experience as a scout. Frank's not sure exactly what kind of game his employers are after but to him it doesn't matter much, bear, deer, wolves, and mountain lions are plentiful in the country he knows like the back of his hand.
