Book publishing today can be a cut-throat business, but nobody expects to come across an actual corpse... The closest encounter Howard Miller, an editor at Redwood Press, had ever had with espionage and murder was in books, movies, and television. When he wasn't wining and dining authors and literary agents, reading, and editing, he was pursuing Dinah Foxworth, an attractive publishing house executive at a rival house. But that was before he stumbled into the complicated and ingenious scheme of his boss, Emory Redwood, to smuggle a manuscript by a dissident Russian scientist out of the Soviet Union. Suddenly Miller finds himself on a dangerous mission to Istanbul to bring back the manuscript that could put Redwood Press on the map. When the manuscript disappears and a colleague is found dead, the CIA, the FBI and Miller are all stumped.
