One of the original Quentaris writers at his best. Who is the real prince & who is the actor? Crocodile Sal is trying to pass a Deception Test for the Thieves Guild by posing as a public servant. She stumbles across an actor (while doing a burglary) who claims he is really a prince and needs her help to travel to the Rifts to rescue him. After successfully battling huge swamp monsters & castle guards they grab the actor who says that HE is the real prince. Sal is thoroughly baffled until it is suggested that they both endure a special magical trial. But this complicates matters more as a mysterious 3rd stranger in a cloak seems to be able to pass all the tests too.p.51-55 From “They didn’t have long to wait” [The part where the swamp creatures attack.]
