I really like this book. Cobleigh tells about his thoughts on the war, small anecdotes from his time in Thailand and recounts some of his missions. And, not least, about some of the great moments pilots has when they simply just fly.
And all in a kind of low keay language and tone that makes the book very readable. ( )

Nineteen Amazon reviewers, most of whom were flyers in Vietnam gave this book a sterling review. I found it very interesting. The section when he is assigned to a naval air craft carrier to teach a new technique is especially interesting. The author states that he had not observed the take offs and landings from carriers and was shocked. He planned a way that the navy and air force could cooperate. It was a strategy that given time would have led to drones earlier in US military history. ( )
