#68 - Many thanks! So Brave, Young, and Handsome is a very different book than Peace Like a River, but most definitely a worthy follow-up. It packs a good dose of humor as well. I appreciate it when writers take their time with their work rather than trying to capitalize on their best-seller ...

Stasia, looks as if you had another good reading week. I liked Peace Like a River too. It has that hook that makes people remember it. Semantic Antics sounds interesting so I'll add it to the TBR lists.

Peace Like a River is one of my all-time favorite books. I loved the father with all his Jesus-like abilities and thinking--which I think is pretty funny coming from an atheist such as me, but it's true. It just goes to show that good writing and "good people" have mass appeal! :-)

#73: Peace Like a River is on my 'must-read' list for this year! I read one of Enger's books earlier this year, So brave, young, and handsome, and enjoyed it, so since you liked the writing of Peace, you may want to give that one a try as well.

31. Peace Like a River by Leif Enger Ha, I read another book from my 999 list. This was a recommendation from the Desiring God blog. I didn't find it as moving or challenging as John Piper (which I would say is my loss, not his). It was a well told story with interesting descriptions of the ...

34. Peace Like a River by Leif Enger - 311 pp This was a recommendation from one Piper to another and reviewed on the Desiring God blog. The writing was very good and the story was well told. It was an interesting story and I'm still trying to understand how I feel about it.
