Loading... Latin for All Occasions (1990)by Henry Beard
None. humorous little books that provides translation of everyday phrases into Latin. ( )Ah, geeky parochial school humor. I definitely groaned a lot more than laughed out loud while reading this. I often sign-off many of my e-mails with these pithy sayings. How to say stupid things and insult people and suchlike whilst sounding/feeling really clever and smug. Very funny A cute little book: I sent my headache specialist the translation of "I don't get headaches, I give them". Henry Beard did the "cats" series if I remember correctly, and while his work is not going to stand the test of time (he's no Dorothy Parker or Bennett Cerf), it was cute when it came out. I believe there's a sequel. no reviews | add a review
