Cry Wolf by, Patricia Briggs ... that about a year ago. I loved it but it's one of those books where you have to be really into the subject to get in to it. Ironside was pretty good too, and there's another one by Holly Black that's along the same lines but not in the series... it starts with a N lol but I can't think of ... Read Tithe, which I found vastly disappointing, enough so that I imagine Valiant and Ironside will remain untouched on my shelf until I ship them back to the library.

For something more contemporary than paranormal I really enjoyed Getting Lost With Boys by Hailey Abbott and Falling For Romeo ... ... the General did go on a bit too long in his monologue and it became a bit repetitive I thought. This morning I finished Ironside, a ya urban fantasy and the sequel to Tithe. I found myself enjoying it more than Tithe, but can't exactly pin down why. Perhaps the characters are more real ... My own library is scattered throughout the house on numerous bookshelves and stored in boxes under the stairs. Here's 1 ... I love John Marsden, he's brilliant. And the Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix (he IS Aussie, right?) is excellent. His other books are nowhere near as good as those ones ): I finished Ironside yesterday and started reading 13 little blue envelopes last night. I onl got 2 or 3 chapters in but I think I am really going to like it. Toast . . . mmmm.
I have not read Ironside but I have read Of Mice and Men. I haven't read My name is Number 4 but I have read Ironside ooh I want one of those! I should be finished reading Ironside tonight hopefully. I am not really making any progress on Desperation because I had to take a break from the gore. But I think I am going to start 3 willows: the sisterhood grows next. I've had great success giving Twilight fans Holly Black's Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside - they have faeries, romance, danger, enigmatic male leads, and chivalrous deeds. Better writing too. :) It's already been mentioned, but Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely is in a similar vein.
Meg Cabot's ... I am reading Ironside, Desperation, and rereading HP/SS. I need a comfort read. I went to the library today to pick up Coraline but they didn't have it in :( But I did get 13 Little Blue Envelopes, Ironside, Blood and Chocolate, and 3 Willows the sisterhood grows I finished Tithe and am reading Valiant but I am not sure if i like the second one. This was yet another wonderful read in Holly Black's Modern Tales of Faerie series. Once again, I found myself sucked into ... I finished Ironside by Holly Black on my lunch break, so now I've started At Bertram's Hotel by Agatha Christie. I find myself in the mood for a nice little mystery. I started Ironside by Holly Black this morning. I've got a really good feeling about it. 14. Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale - Holly Black 2007, I picked 150 books to read. However, the last Harry Potter book completely ruined things for me and I had to desire to pick up another book until recently. 5) The series by Holly Black, Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside, which is sort of old style fairy world put alongside the modern world, has a nice slash storyline between some of the supporting characters. ... the for the first time the Oz books, only this book is a bit darker. And the illustrations were really a treat.

I would say Lover Revealed was also ... I think I have a tie for favorite YA book this year so far. The first is an urban fantasy called Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale by Holly Black. I liked it even better than Tithe or Valiant.
My second fave is Wide Awake by David Levithan. This book was unlike anything that I ... >55 I thought Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale was much better than Tithe and Roiben certainly had a lot more depth in the story. Once you get to it I'd be curious on your thoughts there as well.

I finally gave in and picked up a copy at the book store last week. I think I have to say I enjoyed it even more than Tithe or Valiant.
Kind of a side note is my 7 year old is ... ... he was a very one-dimensional character. You never know his thoughts or what motivates him. (I hope we see more of him in Ironside:).
But I didn't dislike it! It just wasn't as good as I was hoping. I think the grittiness was used more to shock the audience than to develop the characters ... Currently I'm reading Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale by Holly Black. I finished When Bruce Met Cyn and started a new YA called Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale by Holly Black. I just wanted to take a peek and started reading the first page. I was instantly hooked so now I have to read the rest of the book!
After this I have another YA and a paranormal ... I couldn't wait to start my new book, Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale by Holly Black. I made the mistake of flipping it open and reading the first couple pages. It never even made it into my TBR pile!
