Having already read his autobiographies Surely You're Joking, Mr Feynman and What Do You Care What Other People Think, I was convinced that I could gain valuable insights into quantum electrodynamics from Feynman, who had a unique ability to ... ... what I'd call "entry-level" physics. Very readable, but doesn't lose the depth needed to understand what's going on. Also, QED is a pretty good intro to some more advanced quantum mechanics without needing a bunch of specialized math. If I were to recommend just one book on physics, it would be Feynman's QED; The Strange Theory of Light and Matter. This book changed my life ... honestly. I never looked at the world the same way after reading it. QED is a pretty readable intro to - what else - quantum electrodynamics. 33. Cosmos

QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter by Richard Feynman Feynman is, of course, my hero. I recommend The Pleasure of Finding Things Out or QED: the Strange Theory of Light and Matter. These books are not about him, but by him, and so give a great insight into his own way of thinking without the technicalities of his physics lectures.
I have ... ... Quantum Quark, which is more in-depth than most popular works. And I would be in trouble if I didn't mention Feynman's QED, which is at a lower level, but is Feynman.
