Osman puts forward the case for linking references in the Old Testament to the considerable body of information on the pharaohs of ancient Egypt. His thesis requires an adjustment to the accepted chronology. I have consulted a friend who knows a great deal about these matters. She maintains that there are some doubtful conclusion and thin threads in Osman's argument. Hovever, anyone who has seen the very impressive mummified head of the vizier Yuya in the Cairo museum, as I have, will surely wish that the identification of Yuya with the biblical Joseph were true.
Whatever the merits of the central argument, this book is an entertaining and informative read. ( )

Mr. Osman has made a fascinating case for the identification of the mummy of the late 18th Dynasty Vizier, Yuya, as the Biblical patriarch, Joseph. The correspondences between their titles, events of their lives and other factors are remarkable.
