The breakneck novelette-style speed makes this one a good quick read, suitable for a short flight or an afternoon by the pool. I wish it were a full-length novel, though.
You likely won't guess the ending.
No fair reading the last ... What a pleasure to be here, communing with people who appreciate a good read.

Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Sex and Science, Mary Roach; This was just fantastic - Roach has taken a subject that reduces even the most mature and open-minded of us to blushes and giggles, and written a book that is very readable and hugely entertaining. 81. The Wednesday Letters Very well done for the type of book it is, but boy howdy, this sucker is sappy! Beware the sugar shock. Oooh, livrecache, I just finished Affinity last night and was wishing I had a copy of Spook to re-read (I borrowed a library copy a year or two ago). I've finished reading Six Feet Over AKA Spook and I really enjoyed it; not as much as I enjoyed Bonk and much more than I enjoyed Stiff.

For the goblins - I have finished reading Bonk and am now reading Six Feet Over AKA Spook which I am enjoying very much. It is all about mediums and how to measure the weight of the soul. Does anybody want Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife ?
I now have two copies because the one I am reading is called Six Feet Over and I don't need both.
First BookCrosser to PM me with an address gets the book. I am pinkozcat at BC. pinkozcat, I think you'll find that Six Feet Over is actually Spook masquerading under a different title. Roach has written two other books, Stiff: the Curious Lives of Human Cadavers and Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife. I'm adding both to my TBR pile.
