The city mouse visits the country mouse, but he decides the food is boring, so he invites the country mouse to visit the city. After a scare while gathering food, the country mouse decides to go home. He has decided that boring food is safer food. The story ends with the message that “no matter where I roam, there is no place like home”.

I thought this books illustrations were good. I like the message of things are not always better somewhere else.

I would use this book when doing a unit on farm animals. This book is also good to use when discussing traditional fantasy to older children. ( )
