This is a truly amazing book, with the title stating precisely what it is all about. For 589 pages, the copiler takes your from the first four centuries of Christianity to a group of contemporary prayers. The sources ranges from the famous to the anonymous. The work is also blessed with a comprehensive table of contents, and index of authors and sources, and an index of themes and first lines. In addition to enriching your own prayer life, I would consider this an indispensable work for anyone interested in the history of Christianity.

A wonderful collection of Christian prayers. I read at least one a day, and it blesses me every day. Good index. ( )
