#43, 48 It's many years since I read Smila's Sense of Snow , but I remember really enjoying the beginning and thinking the ending was very forced and inconsistent.

Hi and happy new year! Was interested to see that your reaction to Miss Smilla's Feeling For Snow was pretty much identical to mine when I read it. Such a let down at the end!
Smila's Sense of Snow is another book that has occupied Continent TBR for a while now. When I finally get to read it, I may just skip the end 1/3, though. Sounds terrible.
Happy New Year and I'm honored to have made your list!
IMHO, the movie Smilla's Sense of Snow was far better. I read the book long ago because I was captivated by the beautiful imagery of the title. It has a certain ring to it eh?

I loved Smilla's Sense of Snow -- it's been a few years since I read it, but it was fascinating about both Scandinavia and Greenland.
I'm reading a book written by a man, but it's about a woman: Smilla's Sense of Snow . I only started it this afternoon but I'm totally hooked.
I couldn't do anything this morning until I finished Sacred Hunger. Wow, that was a great book. Now I'm reading Smilla's Sense of Snow , which I've heard a lot of great things about on LT. About 50 pages in and it's shaping up to be a really good read, too.
In the last few days I finished off Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow and Don't Move. I wasn't so impressed with Miss Smilla (c'mon, that final twist was just sheer stupidity), and while the first half of Don't Move was a bit of a slog (unpleasant protagonist), the second half was unputdownable.
