A terrific collection of Latin American fiction. Introduced me to a number of exceptionally talented authors I'd never heard of and treated me to some stories from a number of ol' reliables. The Garcia-Marquez story--very brief--is breathtaking. ( )

A great mix of different short-stories from different parts of Latin America. ( )

This is an anthology of Latin-American short stories, by some of the most famous writers and some minor, unknown ones. The fantastic, the realism and uncanny are mixed in this engaging book. The writing is in English, unfortunately, but the original text is well translated and the stories are very appealing nonetheless. This is a great book if you have a spare evening time in bed for a bit of reading. ( )
