The fun and humor from the first book seemed completely lacking in this sequel. Perhaps if the grandparents didn't complain so much, the story could have flowed more easily, but instead I found myself not wanting to continue after the glass elevator made it back to the factory. ( )Taking up where Charlie and the Chocolate Factory leaves off, Charlie, his family, and Mr. Wonka find themselves launched into space in the great glass elevator. Read this as a 13-year-old and liked it then. We started listening to this audiobook (read by Eric Idle) on the way home from Kahneta Sept. 20,2009. Gladys likes it and will have to check it out again. Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator is just as witty as its predecssor, Charlie and the Chocolate Facotry. no reviews | add a review
