Work detailsHoneymoon by James Patterson (2005)
My blog post about this book is at this link. ( )James Patterson books are good. I Know I don't like to be a man in this book. This thriller is breath taking. I loved it. i really enjoyed this book. it was a light fast read. it was a combination of fbi/serial killer/political. the only reason it didn't get more star was due to the fact they didn't really clear up the political part. they just used it for an ending cincher. i new the ending (at least her) by the last chapter or so but it kept going. i wasn't totally satisfied with the division and/or relationship with nora and o'hara. all others were so thorough and well done and you got what he was doing and what was going on but compared to the others, it just didn't hold up well. it just wasn't enough. i would have prefered it was done as well as the others and been longer, but i guess you can't have it all. oh and the damn letter, that would have been a great way to end. a way for closure with nora, instead it just left you. if that's what was intended then so be it, i would have prefered more. still worth the read though. Honeymoon is the first thriller book I read by James Paterson. I tried to listen to the teens favorite Maximum Ride, but couldn’t finish listening even the first CD. Maybe I should try reading it. However, I really enjoyed the fast- paced thriller “Honeymoon”. It is a highly suspenseful and entertaining book that you want to devour in one sitting. I found myself being sucked in by the story, just like the men who got sucked in by the main character of the story, seductive and sexy woman by the name of Nora Sinclair. She is a stunning and successful interior decorator, who has a wonderful career and no shortage of men. The only problem is that all the men who get in close contact with Nora (only extremely wealthy) eventually die under mysterious circumstances. When FBI agent John O’Hara takes Nora's case, and tries to uncover one of the the victim's mysterious death, he finds himself captivated by her charm and can’t resist the temptation. He knows better to stay away from her, for her past isn’t crystal clear. She has been married twice, but both her husbands are dead. Her mother is in psychiatric hospital. What other secrets does she have? Read to find out. I personally liked the book very much, but there was one confusing subplot about the tourist, that I didn’t understand quite well. This book, even though found on my school library book shelf, might be more appropriate for the adults than HS students. I think that the upper HS grades 11 & up would be able to handle it, although I would not recommend it. The book has violence and a quite few sex scenes (although not explicit); I think makes it a little inappropriate for the younger readers. Otherwise, it is a great book. There's a fair amount of intrigue and suspense to be had within the pages of this Patterson & Co thriller. It's a tired plot although the pace and rapid twists and turns compensate somewhat. Patterson fans will know exactly what to expect and shouldn't be disappointed whereas readers looking for clever and well constructed crime fiction may find this rather amateurish. Far from his best work, Honeymoon starts far better than it finishes and although is an easy and entertaining read, it's not a memorable entry in the Patterson library. no reviews | add a review
