I absolutely love Zafón! This book is poetry in itself. The story gets you from the beginning and you instantly fall in love with the characters. I didn't give it 5 stars because I kinda hated the involvement of weird freakish machines from hell at the very end: I wish he wouldn't have done that. Otherwise, it's a great read. ( )

[4] of cover. âOscar Drai had fled his memories, thinking naively that if he got far away from them, the voices of his past would be silenced forever. Now he has returned to his city, Barcelona, to exorcise his demons and confront his memories. The macabre adventure that occurred in his youth, terror and madness surround, interestingly, a very beautiful love story.… (more)
