This is the more adult and less British version of Riley.

Those wonderful descriptions of feelings are more frequent and less abrupt. On the other hand I haven't had to look for any British slang in the dictionary this time, the "kerb" is still there as are some memories of Manchester but there are anecdotes and not part of the spirit of the book, as they were in her former books.
