quite possibly the most inane, boring and stupid book i've ever read. why on earth did i stick with it. it seemed like it had promise up until the time derek was released from prison and it should have followed the storyline of his unjust incarceration. instead it was absurd, sappy, and gratuitously sex-filled blather. if i can save even one person from reading this drivel, this review was worth my time.

Book description
FROM THE DEPTHS OF DESPAIR TO PASSION’S HEIGHTS.
Derek McGill was an uncompromising investigative reporter, yet nothing had prepared Sabrina for the reality of the man himself. Handsome and intense, he had seen past her obvious wealth and beauty to the sadness beyond. And when he cradled her child in his arms, he had shared her pain. Then three months later, fate struck - and Derek found himself set up by a power-hungry businessman and in prison for murder. Watching Derek's face darken with frustration at the injustice of his conviction, Sabrina ached to help him, even as she mourned the change in him. For his gentle warmth was gone, replaced by a raging need for revenge. As society turned its back on them, Sabrina and Derek drew closer, until suddenly he touched her, drugging her with his kisses and sweeping them both into a swelling tide of desire. But Sabrina realized that before she could reach Derek's heart, they would have to face and fight the world together - if they ever were to be truly free.…
