Not good. I should just give up on Familiar. The first one was interesting, but now the gimmick's dull and I don't like the writing. In this one, you've got an FBI agent who's gone semi-rogue, who's in love with the girl who's the primary target of the enemies that have driven him out of the agency. They're in an isolated spot, with at least one person whose motivations are suspect at best knowing where they are - so of _course_ the only proper course of action is to confess love and end up in bed together. Sheesh! Good way for both of them to get dead. And then they quarrel, for some really stupid reasons. Very much cardboard characters doing whatever the author thought was appropriate at the moment...never mind consistent characterization. Bah. Goo'bye! ( )
