Kananaskis Country in southern Alberta is one of the newer parks, with many trails for hiking and skiing, and many possible rough walks and climbs in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Ward Cameron is a professional naturalist and park interpreter for Kananaskis Country, and took the majority of the beautiful photographs in the book. The guide includes a chapter on the geology and natural history of the park, and a review of the human history of the area, and opportunities for recreation: hiking, camping, skiing, mountain biking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, canoeing and kayaking, rafting, fishing, mountain climbing, and hunting. The following chapters details trails and facilities in each region of the extensive park. Published in 1996, this book is a bit out of date now, but still an attractive trip planning guide and source of ideas. Plans should be confirmed with more current information from the Kananaskis Country park interpreters and website. ( ) no reviews | add a review
