First thoughts: loved mead's take of the whole vampire myth. this was filled with win. No.30
I loved Vampire Academy too :) Completely forgot to recommend it :) ... it boring. The first was the best, but the rest was only so-so. If you like vampire stories, i would strongly recommend Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. ... of Short Fiction edited by Martha King - a mixed bag, some brilliant stories, some so-so stories 3/5

I started that series first with Marked before reading Vampire Academy, so at first I liked it better since it's an original take on the vampire mythology, but the books have gotten a bit offtrack while the books in the VA ... ... on the list for it at the library. I just hope they get it quickly.

I've moved on to Vampire Academy, which I'm liking much better than the House of Night series so far. I'm about halfway through the book, so we'll see if it continues strong. >199 Define "cheesy." Vampire Academy is not a romance like Twilight. It's geared towards young adults and most of it takes place at a boarding school. The characters and situations they get into are realistic. I liked it. I have not read Vampire Academy. Let me know what you think of it! Have you read the Vampire Academy series? I almost picked up the first one yesterday but put it back, fearing it would be too cheesy. ... has tried to spin, but newcomers to the genre would be better off with other vampire series, such as Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy.

Smith.

On the other hand I really loved both the Vampire Academy and Morganville Vampire series! Try the Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine, the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, or the House of Night series by P.C. Cast. ... that aren't even on my challenge.
My faves of what I've read on this challenge so far are probably the PsyCop and Vampire Academy books. They are way different from each other even though both series deal with paranormal stuff! Mostly I've liked everything I've read here. The only ... I finished Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy and Vampire Academy, started Victorian Ghost Stories and continued with Drood and All Other Nights - both of which are more promising than anything else I've read in months. I'm also waiting on the next Vampire Academy book along with with the Cassandra Clare Immortal Instruments series (at least I think that's the name of the series).
Another series I think I'll probably be picking up the next book in is Serena Robar's vampire books. It starts with Brace ... The 2 series I'm reading are House of Night and Vampire Academy. I'm waiting for the next Confessions of Georgia Nicolson. I have the latest Princess Diaries from the library but haven't gotten around to reading it.

For what it is worth I'll also put in that Wild Adapter is my favorite new to me ... You may want to read Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead theres 4 books to the series so far it takes place mostly in a school (hence the name) but there is some romance, action, suspense and some heart felt moments. It is YA series & I really enjoyed it.
I agree Vampire Academy was very good & I cant wait for the next book to come out.

A series I've just recently discovered that I'd highly recommend are the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead. They've all been very interesting so far. I am happy! Succubus Blues is awesome, and Marked is pretty darn good.
If I remember correctly about Vampire Academy it was a very complex fantasy world that I had a hard time keeping straight. i *think* that's everything *gulps* ... I want to read Specials but am not sure our library has it yet. I want to read some vampire series books Bluebloods, Vampire Academy, and Vampire High. I loved J.R. Ward's BDB Series, also Kresley Cole's IAD Series for YA Richele Mead's Vampire Academy Series was very good & I can't wait for the 4th book to come out. I haven't read Vampire Academy, but I have read The Little Prince. I haven't read The Great Barrier Reef but I have read Vampire Academy ... you give them a chance.
Also, if you haven't already read the books, I would also suggest another YA vampire series, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Great books--- love them!

I picked up Babylonne by Catherine Jinks from the library today and am really looking forward to jumping right into it. I loved her Pagan books! So, I think I'm doing well. I've finished two books off my list so far: Vampire Academy and The Darkest Night and really enjoyed both books.

I am reading Vampire Academy I should be done by this afternoon. I started reading it right at midnight last night! I'm only a few pages in but I started Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead last night.
I'll probably also attack a few of my manga (Vassalord and Wild Adapter) I got for Christmas that I held off on reading since they were on my 999 Challenge list.
>2 Tower of Ravens is also on my 999 ... ... that, where the love interest died and the soul came back in a new person. It was rather frustrating!
I'll be starting Vampire Academy either tonight or tomorrow. ... my apartment so I am going to focus on that so it is done for the New Year. Then Starting in January I am going to read Vampire Academy. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I requested it from the library in anticipation of my Paranormal 999 Challenge thinking it would take a lot longer to come in than it did. I have to have it done and returned by 1/8/2009. ... cards I count what I bought with them as Christmas gifts so here they are:

PsyCop which was ... #4 Vampire Academy that is an awesome on to start with. I have read all of them, I am having to buy the 4th because the library did not have it. I believe Richelle Mead to be a AWESOME AUTHOR!!
#3 Biting the Bullet is the third book in the Jaz Parks series, definetly if you like romance, ... ... book all lined up and ready to go on January 1. It came in from the library much sooner than I anticipated it would, Vampire Academy by Richelle Meade. ... combine dhampir and vampires.I had originally had it as a seperate catagory because I had never heard of them before I read Vampire Academy. I read Vampire Academy and it was bloody terrible. I see why teens today are drowning themselves in Holister and Abercrombie clothes. The book had an interesting idea behind it but essentially it was about 2 girls trying to tear themselves down socially and let me tell you...they were not nice. ... ... Be Still my Vampire Heart, The Scorpion and the Seducer, Shadow Kiss, and, of course, the two that I re-read, Vampire Academy and Breaking Dawn.
My lowest rating this month was a 4 star (Mistress of Scandal)-- I had a pretty good month as far as ratings go! Or maybe I've ... Just finished Damien & starting Noah - I also am going to pick up The Vampire Academy since everyone keeps talking about it. I seen some posts I agreed with and some I did not. My hall of shame winners go to Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead and Melanie Rawn and her Dragon prince Series. I managed to choke down the first one and the second one left me dead in the water. Another one that just popped into my mind ... My apologies if i missed it but how about Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead? Its kind of like Stephenie Meyer's vampire books but not as well written. In fact I just finished the first one and found a good story burried in teen girls vengence and desire to destroy each other socially, but I ... >5 I've read that one before-- it wasn't too bad of a story! Hope you enjoy. :)

I read Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, which I thought read more like an episode of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv series than a YA fantasy romance. Oh well.

Demon, I'm ... If you don't mind young adult give Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy a try. I'm reading it now. About half way through and I'm really enjoying it - fast fun read.
In my opinion, Richelle Mead's strong background in early Christian mythology and folklore makes her stuff a lot more ...
