Bury My Heart and Wounded Knee (a two-fer) I've been keeping track of my books read in 2008 on my profile, and this looked like a fun way to do it too. I got off to a slow start, but am taking a month-long vacation in August/September and hope to make up some ground then. So far:
1. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
2. World With ... #128 - I didn't like the last one I read The Fourth Hand and so I waited until I could get the most recent Until I Find You for $1, so if I don't like it I won't fret over the lost money. It does make me sad, though. I thought A Widow for One Year was one of his best.
Yes, there are often ... 30) The World According to Garp by John Irving
I have only ever read one other Irving book and that was The Fourth Hand, which I did not like. Therefor I was hesitant to read another one, but decided to give him one more shot since I've heard many great things about this novel. I'm glad I ... The Fourth Hand by John Irving ... very self-indulgent at the PTA Thrift Shop today, considering it a reward for food shopping and running other errands:

Start ... ... to stand up for Irving here - I'm starting to feel like the only person in the world who loved Until I Find You and The Fourth Hand. I guess I'm in an exclusive club. To each his own, that's what makes the world such a great place to live, huh? ... and A Prayer for Owen Meany. A Prayer for Owen Meany is my daughter's favorite book of all time. By the time I got to The Fourth Hand, which I disliked, I stopped reading any more of his books. A Left-Hand Turn Around the World

loved John Irving until The Fourth Hand -- so bad that I couldn't bring myself to read Until I Find You. A Widow for One Year is one of my favorite books of all time though. Am currently reading (and enjoying) The fourth K by Mario Puzo. A little bit braincandy, but fun thus far - a lend from my Father, who seems to be into mystery and thriller writing at the moment.
Before that, I finally finished Druid Priestess by Emma Restall Orr. Rather a difficult ...
