And their effeminate yet musclebound FBI/actor lovin'! Not Brockmann's most engaging or exciting novel. The plot is pretty silly, and it has all the faults of the usual Christmas reunion novel. Far too many characters return from earlier in the series for no reason but sheer nostalgia. However, Brockmann deserves a lot of credit for writing matter-of-fact gay love scenes. That's unusual enough to make the book worth the read. Not the best of the Troubleshooters series but still really great because Jules's character is so awesome. It's love scenes are a little awkward because it's a romance about two gay guys but it's also really normal and sweet at the same time. I'm really happy Suzanne told Jules's story! I've loved Jules Cassidy ever since he was first introduced in THE DEFIANT HERO, and I'm so, so glad that Suzanne Brockmann gave him the happy ending that he deserves.
Although I had doubts about Robin Chadwick when he first appeared a few books ago, I have to say that the love these two men share for each other is such a wondrous, joyous thing that I can no longer complain.
If you love this series, and especially if you love Jules Cassidy, you don't want to wait -- pick up this book today. (
