... community, which all in all, made The Sugar Queen the better book, in my opinion. I should finish Ann Patchett's Run later this evening, then it's on to something seasonally appropriate (well, in my mind, at least): Twilight or The Historian or the collected works of Poe or LOTR... ...

... a plus when I select a book purely as a fun read! I started The Sugar Queen over breakfast, and will be picking up Run as soon as I'm off LT. Then I think I'll have to go back to nonfiction for one or two reads, as I feel a little guilty that I have been ignoring my many nonfiction TBR ...

... of Florence and What is the What over this past weekend, and am now onto The Sugar Queen (one chapter in) and Run (picking up as soon as I'm off LT).

... ofbooks.com/2008/10/05/book-review-bel-canto-by-ann-patchett/ I mention it because several people read Ann Patchett's Run recently and posted wildly disparate reviews. Very strong, some loved it, some hated it ... not much middle-of-the-road (I haven't even composed mine yet, I've been "s ...

I just finished Run and I liked it. It was not as good as Bel Canto but there are some great characters in it and it is an interesting story. After reading the upcoming chapters for Fellowship of the Ring I am going to read Three Cups of Tea. Also, I just got Brisingr from the library. ...

#21/23: When unpacking my books last night I discovered I have Run as an ARC I never got around to reading. I might have to move it up my list now!

... Allen - also out from library ...and possibly includes: Twilight - still haven't read it The Book Thief - ditto Run by Ann Patchett - for my book club although I'm not going to this month's meeting, so I might skip it LOTR trilogy - it's been several years since I read them and ...

... Assistant. Bel Canto wasn't the "great book" that so many others recommended. On the other hand, I rather enjoyed Run. Now I'm on to Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen. It's slow going. I'll give it another day or so to reel me in.

... be warned: about half way through you will have a "what the heck just happened?" moment. I am going to start reading Run by Ann Patchett unless the library calls tomorrow with Brisingr or Three Cups of Tea. Has anyone read that last one?

I finished Run by Ann Patchett on Monday and absolutely loved it. I'm finally reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and I think I'll begin Snow Flower and the Secret Fan at the end of this week after reading so many great reviews of the book on this site!

If on a winters night a traveler Take(s) the Cannoli, Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs To the Lighthouse On the Road, Run!

#66 ~ d1johnson......I have read Run by Ann Patchett and it was excellent. Enjoy!

Yesterday I went to an author reading by Ann Patchett. She is awesome! I already had her new book Run, but I bought Truth and Beauty while I was there. I really recommend her book Bel Canto. It is one of my all time favorites.

... picking up "fun" reading when I should be working - not that that's such a bad thing. That's how I finished book #40 - Run - Ann Patchett 0 finished June 20, 2008. I've read two of her other fiction books - Bel Canto and The Magician's Assistant - and loved them both. With high ...

... Adult fiction, for mysteries, I'm a big fan of LT's own Deanna Raybourn and her Lady Julia Grey series. Non-mystery: Run by Ann Patchett. How's that for an overly specific and lengthy list!!!

... and liked it well enough to keep pursuing Patchett's whole list. (I'm on to The Patron Saint of Liars soon, and then Run). It was an easier read than Bel Canto but nowhere near as stunning.

... which I absolutely loved (the writing is beautiful) - I see you have it tagged as a favourite also; late last year I read Run: while I didn't feel it was really of the same standard I would still recommend it as a good read. I will definitely be looking for more of her books. Oh - another ...

... The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory - not sorry I read it, just not sure what the big deal is about it. 18. Run by Ann Patchett 19. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett - of the 2 books I read by her back-to-back, I prefer this one. Some of the prose was pure poetry 20. Eva ...

#79 I just finished Run and I wouldn't say I was disappointed, it was a good story but I had such high expectations. It was no Bel Canto. #76 The Dark Tower series was great. I read them as they came out, anxiously waiting for the next installment. I am now just starting Into the Wild ...

Coming up for me in the next couple of weeks: Run by Ann Patchett, which was recommended here on LT, Loud and Clear by Anna Quindlen, A Ship of the Line by C.S. Forester, Beyond Reach by Karin Slaughter and Traveling with the Dead by Barbara Hambly.

I have just started Run by Ann Patchett, with Into the Wild and The God Delusion in the wings. Why do all library books that you have on hold always seem to come in at the same time? I see lots of reading over the break or lots of fines at the library. I hope they are worth it.

Just brought home from the library, Run by Ann Patchett and Into the Wild, which I want to read before I see the movie. I hate seeing a movie knowing there is a book and I haven't read it yet. I always wonder, how they are messing with the real story.

#149 Grammath: I also read Under the Skin this year. VERY creepy. I've finished Run by Ann Patchett and found it one which I can recommend to most people. Like SATURDAY by Ian McEwanit all takes place within twenty-four hours and is largely character-driven. The plot keeps you ...

... from a few crime cliches, the novel was an insight into society and the vernacular in rural Australia. Now I'm reading Run by Ann Patchett and it's quite good so far.

For OTHER people, I've purchased: Run The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao 50 X 50 But none for Elle. I weep.

#24: I was able to get my hands on Run a few months ago, and I did like it, but not as much as Bel Canto, which I think is her masterpiece. I'm still looking forward to the next book by Ingrid Hill. I think there's one in the works, but no official word yet. I thought her first book, ...

#1: I realize you posted it a while ago, but Ann's new one is called, Run and it is phenomenal. It's due out in October. Ones that I'm really looking forward to would be Joshilyn Jackson's new one. I hope that my store get's an ARC!

Ann Patchett has a new one coming out in early October called Run. It's incredibly lovely.
