The Command by David Poyer is novel about a Navy Commander taking over his first ship the USS Horn, a destroyer. The story starts with the change of command in the US to the return of the ship after its first overseas tour in the Med and Mideast. Along with it being his first command, the story is about this being the first warship to have mixed male/female crew. The story covers the integration of the women into the crew and some of the good/bad things that took place. There is some action while in the Mideast while doing patrols in the Red Sea to enforce an embargo against Iraq after the first Gulf War. ( ) no reviews | add a review
