None. A collection of thrilling adventure stories of the First World War. Ideal for reluctant readers, as well as adults. Rather dry - too detailed for kids that are not "into" fighting and war. A collection of 10 short stories offering some insight into key events in the first "modern" war, World War 1. This book contains stories of bravery and courage in appalling conditions, heroism and disaster and loss from this "war to end all wars". The stories include the unofficial truce during the first Christmas, the Zepplin campaign of terror over London, The Battle of the Somme where 20,000 men lost their lives in one day, an army refusing to fight, the front-line nurses and a great naval battle in 1916. no reviews | add a review

The first story is called, "Over By Christmas?" It is from 1914. It is about what was going on and why. The second one is called, "The Cellar House of Pervyse". It was from 1914-1918. It is about two line nurses named Mairi Chisholma nd Elsie Knocker.
The last one I am going to tell you about is called, "The Battle of Jutland". It was May-June of 1916. Two of the best Navy's in the world battle in the sea.
