This book tries very hard to capture the feel of a traditional New England Halloween of days gone by and for the most part succeeds. Some of the projects are more practical than others, but there are still plenty of ideas to draw inspiration from here.
I was especially fond of her bottled ghosts and handmade pumpkin candles along with the wide array of carved pumpkins and other lit decorations.
I can't speak to the recipes she's included, although I was highly amused to realize that she's "borrowed" the idea of tea-dyed eggs from Asian cuisine to fill in as a creepy food.
Overall I would recommend this book to people who love Halloween, be it in October or all year round. If nothing else, the beautiful images and scenes are sure to inspire.
