NCLA Review - These are Expository Commentaries, which means that they are sermons. They cover all of the verses in a book of the Bible although some of the verses are grouped. These sermons were delivered at the Moody Memorial Church of Chicago. The original printing was in 1920, so the language is a little old-fashioned, but the events the author is talking about are 2000 years old. The author was a well-known preacher and teacher. A regular commentary is best if one is after facts, but this is a highly readable exposition on all the Bible verses, and it presents a general view of Biblical events and is great food for thought.
