Five stories about George and Martha, who are “two great friends.” Fun and sweet, no great dramatic moments, just quiet stories mostly about coming to new understandings with a person you care about. ( )

This book is a good one to share with children about friendship. It is made up of five different short stories. George did not like Martha's pea soup, so he poured it in his shoes, but Martha saw! Luckily she did not get mad and made him chocolate chip cookies. George and Martha were really good friends and they did a lot together. But there was some things they couldn't do together. George looked in on Martha taking a bath one day and she got a little mad at him and told him that he couldn't do that because she needed her privacy. In the last story George lost his tooth and got it replaced with a gold one, he was a little self conscious about it but Martha told him it looked great! George then realized that was what friends are for, to make you feel better when you are down.
