As a woman cleans a funeral home, a corpse leaps off the embalming table. So begins a horror romance featuring Summer McAfee, who runs her own janitorial business. The corpse turns out to be Steve Calhoun, a detective on the run from crooked cops and drug dealers, so badly beaten he resembles a monster. Scalpel in hand, he threatens to cut Summer's throat, ties her with her bra and abducts her. It's the start of a wild adventure in the course of which Summer will fall in love with the man she calls Frankenstein. By the author of This Side of Heaven.… (more)

I have almost no recollection of this book other than reading it on the beach during Spring Break of 8th grade and loving it... So I guess that's something? ( )

This book is amazing. The way it is written, split up, and the information it contains is totally worth the time reading. It made me feel like I was there observing them in the studios, on tour, and everything. When I finished, I was sad that the journey had ended. ( )

Somewhere inside London's Abbey Road studios, hidden behind an unmarked, triple-locked, police-alarmed door, are some of the most valuable artifacts of twentieth-century music: the raw tapes of every recording session in the nearly eight-year studio career of the Beatles.
