This book is adorable! Sixteen cows is a quirky poetry picture book that has amazing illustrations. The book was overall a fun read for young children because it is somewhat interactive.

Two farmers get their cows all tangled up after a twister blows through. They struggle to seperate them but only end up bringing themselves together in holy matrimony!

I love reading this book to my son. The rhyming words flow so perfectly. My favorite part is when my son knows to say MOOOOO!

This book would work well in a unit about farm, family, or weather. The number sixteen in the title would also allow great math opportunities such as counting the cows.

Cowboy Gene and Cowgirl Sue get their bovine mixed up and end up getting married. Repeated words and phrasing make this a wonderful read aloud. Reader's Theater available www.oregonread.org ( )

A humourous tale of a cowboy and a cowgirl, whose neighbourly rivalry turns to romance. Told in rhythmic rhymes, with amusing names for the cows, and funny illustrations by Kurt Cyrus. Fun for preschool to grade 1. ( )
