Andrea Talbot and her brother Tony take one more trip through time--to find their grandfather's long-lost notebook and to help keep the Ku Klux Klan from taking root in Moose Jaw. Andrea and Tony have no plans for another trip into Moose Jaw's nefarious tunnels. They've only come back to the city to visit Grandpa Vance Talbot, seriously ill in the hospital. Andrea is amazed when Grandpa asks her to travel through time to look for a special notebook he had as a young man. Back in the tunnels, they find their task is much more difficult than just finding a notebook. For one thing, they have to solve a mystery that has troubled Grandpa Vance throughout his life--how did his friend Jack die, so many decades ago? Was it an accident? Or was it murder? Plus, the terrifying Ku Klux Klan has descended on Moose Jaw, spreading its message of intolerance and threatening Tony's friend Mr. Wong. Andrea and Tony have to help expose the Klan for what it is--an organization designed to promote hatred between groups in society and to make money for its unscrupulous leaders. Mary Bishopis a teacher-librarian in the Saskatoon public school system. She is a wonderful reader of her own work and is in great demand for writing workshops to help young people begin to write their own stories. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family and friends walking, biking and skiing.… (more)
