I picked this particular because teaches kids to be nice to each other, and to share. I like how the Mother monkey corrects him when he is wrong and he doesn't exchange any words he just do as he is told. I can see this book being used with kids around six or seven years old. This can be a book that I use at the beginning of the school year to learn about class rules. ( )

"My, what a big monkey you are today!" (Moncure, 1988, p.29)

This picture book is all about good manners. Each day of the week, Little Monkey learns something new about being well-mannered from his family. Kindness and respect are built into this sweet little story. Sharing, apologizing, and table manners are reinforced, and the illustrated pages are simple, delicate, and colorful in the delivery of these positive messages. This book is part of Moncure's Magic Castle series. ( )
