Based on a true story. Bayberry and Beau is a slight, sweet tale of a retired show horse and a reluctant farm cat who team up to solve their problems with mice and loneliness. The cover illustrations are lovely, and the interior line-drawings are detailed enough to be entertaining. There's a lot of text, but with some assistance this would suit horse-loving children who've tackled a chapter book or two. ( )
