It wasn't a great book, it was an OK read. It won't blow you away. I was able to put it down a few times and not be in a hurry to start reading again, which says alot for/to me. I think the concept could be cool, but I was disappointed with how Morgan was portrayed, or rather, portrayed herself. I am a let the actions speak type of reader, I don't need to hear that she is a mean, selfish bitch all the time {at least in those words, let us figure that out for ourselves by her actions} I didn't really feel connected to any of the characters in this book. Not Morgan,Brian or the demons. I felt a little connected to Adam and Dom, but not really. Overall I felt this book lacked something... I just can't put my finger on what yet. The plot was mediocre. I have several others from the series, but I think I am going to hold off reading them right now and go on to something else. ( )i enjoyed this book quite a bit. It envolved professional exorcists and demons, but didn't really focus that much on the paranormal, at least in my opinion. It as reall more of a detective/action book just with paranormal aspects. It was a fun book to read with likable characters. I might have been happier with this book if I'd found it in 'romance' rather than 'fantasy'. As it is, the plot is remarkably similar to that of Carol Berg's Transformation/ Revelation/ Restoration trilogy, so I felt as if I'd already read it-- except that Devil Inside has a hundred times more sex and doesn't pay as much attention to plot. With only 1/4 left of the novel, I decided I couldn't stand the protagonist and I didn't care what ended up happening to her. Unfortunate because, in general, I didn't have much of a problem with the plot, writing or other characters. Professional exorcist gets possessed by a demon. Even though the premise is very unique, the overall story plot is a tad bit predictable. I would of enjoyed the book more if it had spent more time on the demon society and the humans who supported or opposed them. Instead, like many supernatural books these days, there seems to be an abundance of sex as opposed to plot. But there is definitely more plot than in some other similar books, such as the Anita Blake series. For that reason, I will read the second book. no reviews | add a review
