This is a wonderful book about the history of the jewish Meijer-family who live in Switzerland that starts in the second half of the 19th century and continues deep into the 20th century . There's a lot of bitter reality covered under a veil of humour. I liked it, but at times I thought it was a bit too long to keep my attention. ( )
