None. HG Wells is a master craftsman of the short story and the original innovator of science fiction. "The Time Machine" is the classic extended story that opens this volume but my favourite has always been the haunting and understated "The Door in the Wall" - a lament for the lost fantasies of childhood and a grim warning of the dangers of attempting to reclaim them. And what I secretly believe to be the world's greatest ever short story! HG Wells is also the eponymous punchline to the joke that shows chemistry undergraduates have no sense of humour whatsoever - Where do you get mercury from? no reviews | add a review ContainsThe Country Of The Blind [short story] by H. This phrase is the essence of this tale, it is like Hamlet and his monologue “To be or not to be?” in this case the author continue his reasoning about his personal meaning of friendship reinvigorated by the emotional side, in other words his aim is to understand if his friends are fundamental or not a few seconds before his death.
Another concept is testify if a man goes insane or not, another reasoning under the knife was to understand if he was satisfied by his existence considering all pros and cons.
An interesting concept is when he thinks about the immortality as the opposite of God, in the sense that being immortal we do not need to meet God in the paradise.
A deep thought before his death is to imagine the humanity without their souls and their mysterious meaning and aim which has been designed by God.
