This is the 1975 edition. Can't be out-of-date, of course, 'cause they still would have been first. ( )

This is a marvellous book, full of useful information and surprise and material for wasting time happily; but not as full as it looks, since so much of its great weight is taken up by wordy
indexes of which the largest is the least useful.
