This is a fabulous book of poetry. Just what the doctor ordered for reluctant readers of poetry. Funny and informative! For example -- This poem titled Daddy LongLegs starts out: Oh Daddy/Daddy Oh/How'd you get those legs to grow//So very long and lean in size?/From spiderobic/Exercise? The poem continues in a great rhythmic chant. All poems are accompanied by fantastic art. ( )

My classroom has been learning a lot about insects lately, and this has been a favorite of the kids. While the poems themselves contain a lot of information and great verse I believe the strength of this book lies in its illustrations. I found myself spending almost more time looking and talking about the illustrations because they are wonderful.
