![]() None No current Talk conversations about this book. this comical book is sure to get children interested in all things insect! i loved the illustrations and the poetic way in which it was written. ages 3+ goodreads This is a fabulous book of poetry. Just what the doctor ordered for reluctant readers of poetry. Funny and informative! For example -- This poem titled Daddy LongLegs starts out: Oh Daddy/Daddy Oh/How'd you get those legs to grow//So very long and lean in size?/From spiderobic/Exercise? The poem continues in a great rhythmic chant. All poems are accompanied by fantastic art. My classroom has been learning a lot about insects lately, and this has been a favorite of the kids. While the poems themselves contain a lot of information and great verse I believe the strength of this book lies in its illustrations. I found myself spending almost more time looking and talking about the illustrations because they are wonderful. Short poems relaying information about different insects.
