This book is about this married couple who have seven children who are all picky eaters. One child has to have warm milk and another homemade apple sauce. For every meal the children each want something different so she spends all her time tending to them. Their mother does everything thing she can for them and she is always busy and tired. When her birthday comes up the children decide to surprise her with breakfast in bed. They try to cook but everything turns out gross. Their mother is so excited that they remembered her birthday so she doesn’t care that is was bad. In end the family all eats the same thing at every meal so that she doesn’t have to cook seven different things.
I think is book is very funny. I like it because not only will it be interesting for students but it also rhymes. This book would be good for introducing students to poetry.
In the classroom I would use this book around mother’s day to show the students that they should appreciate their mother because they do a lot for them. Also I would use this book to introduced the students to poetry.

This is a great story for picky eaters. The words rhyme, but it is not a simple story. It would be good for older and younger children. It is a great way to have children come up with their own recipes from the things they like best.
