I would use this in K-1 grades because it is an easy read and students at this age are new to school and may not have any sibling to experience sharing space with so will help teach the importance of sharing. I would also use this book to help students practice identifying figurative language or rhyming. ( ) I really liked this book primarily for two reasons. First, I was really drawn to the style of the illustrations. The style is strikingly similar to that of Eric Carle’s illustrations. In fact, I actually read the book because I assumed it was an Eric Carle book when I first saw the cover. Even so, I was not disappointed. The illustrations were extremely colorful and they did a great job of telling the story. The second aspect of this book that I enjoyed was the rhymes. The rhymes were perfect for the target audience and unlike some rhyming books, I didn’t find it repetitive at all. The author used the rhymes to tell a somewhat realistic story about how a house cat might react to living with a new cat. As a whole, this story teaches children about the importance of sharing and getting along with your peers. no reviews | add a review
