I, too, enjoyed The Forgotten Beasts of Eld and The Riddle-Master, but my two favorite McKillip's are The Sorceress and the Cygnet and (most especially recommended) The Changeling Sea.
I am reading His Majesty's Dragon. Isn't this a book you recommended? The Sorceress and the Cygnet ... (as a musical), so my vote would NOT be for that book. The Chabon sounds interesting. McKillip's Riddlemaster of Hed and The Sorceress and the Cygnet are very good; I've never read Solstice Wood. Yesterday, I finished The Sorceress and the Cygnet and I'm hoping to finish the sequel somewhere before the end of the month. We'll see, though. I seem to have got myself a rather stuffed end-of-the-month with things I'd like to do. ^-^; (Like, you know, essays and projects and how to fill up the ... ... so maybe I can talk my parents into taking me one evening and buying me £50 of books for christmas.
and I also got The Sorceress and the Cygnet by Mckillip from an oxfam shop. ... McCaffrey. And the lovely lyrical fantasy novels by Patricia A. McKillip have many heroines. My favourites include The Sorceress and the Cygnet and The Cygnet and the Firebird.
