Moren har gitt opp, søsteren har også resignert, og storebroren har flyttet til Sønderborg. Den unge gutten føler at alt hviler på hans egne skuldre. Farens eneste positive bidrag er hans språklige talent, som brukes til å holde begravelsestaler. Men det er bare ikke nok begravelser til å holde fars humør oppe. Een raar boek, soms wat grof qua humor, maar zeer de moeite waard om te lezen. Ik zou het niet gauw kado geven aan iemand, het is wel bijzonder. ( )

This book is lovely. And very tragic. The main character, Allan, sees his family falling apart and tries to prevent this. Except he does not realise what is really going on, being only an 11 year old.
The style is very light, but the subject of the book is its exact counterweight. A definite recommendation. ( )
